Intermission

I have started clipping stills from my grainy home movies. First are these of William. Others will follow.

I will remove the last one if William objects to its inclusion but it is a precious moment.

More of our Paris Trip

We visited the locks at Bougival. I have video of the locks operating but can't figure how to post them, so...maybe later.

You're not a tourist if you're French!
The weather was wonderful when we were there.
The old chateau at St Germain en Laye where Louis XIV was born (also where sauce bĂ©arnaise was invented to honor Henri IV) .

This is the gate to the private riding area of French royalty.
The view from the riding area.

This famous painting was done on the balcony in the photo below.
We did not eat there.
Our host, Jackie, pointing out a significant mural.
Rosie finds it interesting.
Ahhh! It's the Maison Fournaise.

Paris, continued

We visited this interesting park. Wine used to be brought to Paris on riverboats. The merchnts bid on the 1000 liter barrels that were transported on rail cars from the Seine to this place. The park was constructed on the site, keeping many of the rails in place.

I think this led to a kind of food court with foods from many nations, where I ate the worst "typical English breakfast" ever.

The Museum of Carnival Arts was closed, as was much else in Paris (the annual vacance, you know). It is locally known as the "Merry-go-round Museum".

A better photo of the banner.

I just love the banners!

I stuck the camera over the fence and the interior of the closed muesum was unimpressive.

Intermission

We interrupt the travelogue to bring you this important group photo, taken high in the mountains of Colorado, where we had Thanksgiving dinner on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
